Peppe Tortora is an art, fashion and landscape photographer and director.
His work is between Naples, Milan, Paris, New York.
His creative life started as a painter and musician, growing up he produced different exhibitions then he became a photographer and director. His work as photographer has been published on: GREY magazine, L’Officiel Paris and it’s other international publications, Lurve magazine, Vice, Sans Souci, Vision China (Yamamoto magazine’s), Madame Air France, Vanity Fair, these are the latest.
His collaborations with fashion brands includes: Hermès, Fendi, Louis Vuitton, Mercedes, Ralf Lauren, Giorgio Armani, Faraone, Iosselliani, Pitti Immagine, Herno, Fausto Puglisi. Recently he has made a book alongside with Nan Goldin about Claremont Hotel in San Francisco. He has produced many art exhibitions and he is at the moment working for new ones.
His works has been published alongside Araki, Sarah Moon, Nan Goldin, Robert Polidori, Martin Parr, Deborah Turbeville, Manuela Pavesi, William Eggleston, Corinne Day, Ervin Olaf, Sheila Metzner, Jean Francoise Lepage and others contemporary artists. As a director he as written and produced a personal project called “Certain Italians” with some of the best actor names in italian cinema as Luca Zingaretti, Laura Morante, Eugenia Costantini, Luisa Ranieri, Violante Placido, Marta Gastini, Francesco Scianna, Anita Caprioli, Vinicio Marchioni, Ana Caterina Morariu, Sara Serraiocco, Pilar Fogliati and Simona Tabasco, the project is on the making. His creativity is distinguished by irony which comes out from daily life.
At the moment is writing his first feature film. Recently he has founded “Studio Cane” in Milan, a place where artists can share.
